| Mechanical Simultaneous Film Stretching Line - MESIM® |
| The simultaneous manufacturing process is a one-step stretching process. The film is stretched in the longitudinal and transverse direction at the same time. The MDO and the TDO are combined in one unit. The film has no contact to rolls (which can affect the surface) and is only heated up one time. Simultaneously stretched films are required for some special applications, e.g. films for TFT displays.
Due to the necessity of cost-effective production of simultaneously stretched films, DMT's R&D team developed the MESIM over several years and finally patented the system in 2007.
MESIM® is a combination of "Mechanical Simultaneous". This stretching system is based upon an entirely mechanical principle which can be compared to sequential lines concerning investment and operating costs and therefore offers a real vision for film producers. |

| Features
- MESIM is an entirely mechanical system using well proven technologies: rails, bearing clips, conventional oven design
- MD & TD stretching ratios are fully independent and adjustable during film production
- Energy efficiency of the MESIM system is similar to those of sequential lines of the same width and output
- Operational and maintenance requirements are simple and require skills commonly available on existing production site with sequential lines
- Building design requirements are identical to those of a sequential line: no additional utilities, no special foundations, no additional space requirements
- MESIM can be retrofitted on most existing sequential biax lines
- MESIM enables the production of high priced (high quality) specialities with outstanding sales margins
